Protesters March Toward Indian High Commission in Dhaka

A platform called “July Oikya” began a march this afternoon toward the Indian High Commission in Gulshan, Dhaka, pressing a number of demands. Among them are calls for the return of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and others who left the country during and after last year’s July movement.
According to reports from the scene, several hundred participants assembled near Rampura Bridge and started their procession around 3:15pm. As they moved forward, protesters shouted various slogans, including “Dhaka, not Delhi.”
Members of law enforcement agencies were stationed in the area to ensure security and keep the situation under control.
