A police-used motorcycle was stolen from the Bhattara area of the capital early Saturday morning. The incident took place around 4:30 a.m., according to police sources. CCTV footage shows two masked individuals taking the motorcycle away.

Officials said the black Yamaha FZS Version-2 bike belonged to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Md Firoz of Bhattara Police Station. The motorcycle had been locked near a water tank inside the station’s north gate. In the early hours, the suspects reportedly broke the lock and fled with the vehicle.

A video of the incident has also been obtained. The footage shows two masked men loitering near the police station gate. At one point, one of them enters the premises and breaks the lock, while the other keeps watch outside. The pair then push the motorcycle out of the station area together.

ASI Firoz said he had parked the motorcycle inside the station on Friday night before leaving for duty elsewhere. When he returned in the morning, he found it missing. After reviewing the CCTV footage, he realized that two masked individuals had stolen the bike. His helmet, which was kept with the motorcycle, was also taken.

He added that the motorcycle was fitted with a GPS tracker. However, the thieves removed the device after taking the bike into a nearby alley outside the station, making it impossible to track its current location.

Meanwhile, Bhattara Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Emaul Haque denied that the theft occurred inside the station. He said the motorcycle was stolen from a garage outside the premises and that efforts are underway to recover it.
