Iran Says Military Ready for Immediate Response After Trump Threat

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said the country’s armed forces are fully prepared to respond swiftly and forcefully to any possible attack from the United States.

His remarks came just hours after former U.S. President Donald Trump renewed warnings of potential military action against Iran.

In a post on social media on Wednesday evening, Araghchi stated that Iran’s forces are on high alert and ready to defend the nation’s land, airspace, and waters against any act of aggression. He said the military stands ready to deliver a strong and immediate response if necessary.

Araghchi also noted that Iran had learned important lessons from last June’s several-day Israeli military operation, during which the United States also carried out strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. According to him, those experiences have strengthened Iran’s ability to react faster and on a larger scale.

Earlier, Trump claimed on his social media platform that a large naval force was moving toward Iran and was capable of completing its mission using decisive force if required. He later added that he hoped Tehran would choose negotiations instead.

Responding to the statements, Araghchi said diplomacy cannot succeed under military threats. He added that if the United States genuinely wants talks, it must stop issuing threats and raising unrelated issues.

Iran is currently facing increasing pressure from Western countries, including Washington, over allegations of harsh crackdowns on recent anti-government protests. Trump’s latest warnings have added to those tensions.
