Pubail, Gazipur Correspondent:

New electricity meter connections have been halted for the past two months at the Pubail Zonal Office under Gazipur Palli Bidyut Samiti-1. This has caused significant inconvenience for applicants, many of whom are facing daily harassment. The crisis stems from a severe shortage of electricity meters and wires.

According to Palli Bidyut authorities, the issue lies in the insufficient supply of meters and wires to meet the demand, making it challenging to provide new connections.

Sources from the Pubail Palli Bidyut Office reveal that over 500 applications for new electricity connections are currently pending. However, the supply of electric meters and drop wires has been entirely stopped for nearly two months, leaving applicants in limbo. Allegations suggest that the concerned authorities have been indifferent to this prolonged crisis, failing to take meaningful action despite the severity of the situation.

A visit to the Pubail Zonal Office showed groups of frustrated applicants waiting for a resolution. Many shared their grievances, expressing disappointment and despair. Despite repeated visits and months-long delays, applicants remain without connections. Some accuse the Palli Bidyut authorities of neglecting their responsibilities, turning customer service into a source of suffering.

Customers are hopeful that the authorities will take swift action to improve service quality by resolving the supply issues of meters and wires.
