Bangladeshi cricket star Shakib Al Hasan has been issued an arrest warrant by a Dhaka CMM court in a case related to check fraud. The warrant, issued on Sunday morning, has sparked widespread discussion across various circles.
Later that day, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir attended the final match of the Zia Cricket Tournament at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium. When asked about the case against Shakib, Fakhrul declined to comment, stating, “This is not my subject.”
Fakhrul added that active players should refrain from engaging in politics until they retire, as it could create conflicts between sports and politics. However, he acknowledged that former athletes have every right to enter politics after their careers end, emphasizing that this is a personal choice and a fundamental right for everyone.
During his rare visit to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Fakhrul mentioned that it had been a long time since his last involvement with cricket administration, dating back to 1991 when he was a board member.
