What Nahid revealed about the future security of martyrs’ families and the injured

Nahid Islam, the advisor to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in the interim government, addressed employment opportunities for the families of martyrs and the injured from the July uprising. On Tuesday morning, he shared a post from his verified Facebook account.
In his post, he stated that families of the July martyrs would receive a one-time financial grant along with a monthly allowance and employment opportunities. However, this would not be considered a new job quota. Instead, one eligible member from each affected family would be offered a government, semi-government, or private-sector job based on merit, without the requirement of any competitive examination.
For the injured, he explained that those who suffered lifelong disabilities—such as blindness or limb loss—would receive a monthly allowance, as they would no longer be able to work. Many of these individuals are young and will have to carry the physical and emotional scars of the movement for life, with some requiring prolonged medical care.
He further emphasized that rehabilitating the families of martyrs and severely injured individuals was both a commitment and a state responsibility. Thousands of families have been left in distress due to their participation in the uprising. While no amount of compensation can truly make up for their loss, these families seek not just financial aid but also respect and dignity from society.
