Bangladesh has driven out the fascists, yet we are still not free from the suffering of fascism—this was the remark made by Shafiqur Rahman, the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

Speaking at a discussion on International Mother Language Day at the National Press Club on Friday, organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka Metropolitan South, he stated that while Bangladesh has removed fascists, the pain of fascism still lingers. He emphasized that if one engages in the same misdeeds as the fascists, they too become fascists. He urged respect for the sacrifices of martyrs and the wounded, pleading not to dishonor their blood, lives, dignity, emotions, and sacrifices.
