India’s Foreign Secretary Visits Dhaka

India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has arrived in Dhaka to participate in a meeting with Bangladesh’s Foreign Secretary, Md. Jasim Uddin. He landed on Monday morning aboard a special flight of the Indian Air Force.
This marks the first high-level meeting between officials from Bangladesh and India following the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League government.
It is also Vikram Misri’s inaugural visit to Bangladesh as India’s Foreign Secretary. According to the preliminary schedule, Misri is set to hold a private meeting with Foreign Secretary Jasim Uddin before engaging in formal discussions.
After the secretary-level talks, the Indian Foreign Secretary is expected to attend a luncheon and hold courtesy meetings with Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Towhid Hossain and Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. However, the schedules for the courtesy calls are yet to be finalized.
Vikram Misri is scheduled to return to Delhi on Monday night, December 9.
