Salim Hossain, a personal officer at the Ministry of Home Affairs, has amassed assets worth nearly 50 crore taka, including flats and land in Dhaka, Cox’s Bazar, and five other districts. Despite earning a monthly salary of 35,000 taka, he owns a luxurious flat in New York, valued at 5 crore taka, and holds a U.S. Green Card. His real estate includes flats in Chandra Housings, Nabiganj Housing, and other properties in places like Jhenaidah, Jessore, Ashulia, and Cox’s Bazar. Salim’s mother, Kohinur Begum, claims he made his fortune through business, not just his job in the ministry. He has been working at the Ministry since 2011, with his salary growing from 9,000 taka to 35,000 taka. Despite his wealth, Salim reportedly donated 17 lakh taka to charity. Efforts to contact him for a statement have been unsuccessful, though the Ministry has confirmed that disciplinary action is being taken against him.
