An inequality-free state can be established with a Quran-based constitution – Jamaat Amir

The Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has called for the swift trial of those responsible for the killings during the July Movement, emphasizing the need for justice. Speaking to the press on Monday (March 17) in the Kabiraj Bari area of Jhalokathi, where he went to visit the newborn daughter of martyr Selim Talukdar, he urged the government to ensure the promised compensation of 30 lakh taka for each martyr’s family and provide proper medical treatment for the injured.

 

Earlier, during a brief roadside meeting at the local press club, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman stated that if the Quran were the constitution of Bangladesh and Islamic parties could serve the nation, a discrimination-free state would be established. The meeting was chaired by Hafizur Rahman, the district Jamaat-e-Islami president, and attended by party members and people from various walks of life.
