Bangladesh Bank has ordered the operation of financial institutions from Eid in keeping with the timing of banks and government offices. The central bank has issued instructions in this regard to the managing directors and chief executive officers of all financial institutions operating in the country.

Bangladesh Bank’s Department of Financial Institutions and Markets (DFIM) informed this information in a circular on Wednesday (June 12).

It said that in the new schedule, from June 19, the offices of financial institutions will open at 10 am, which will continue till 6 pm. There will be weekend holidays on Friday and Saturday. The activities of financial institutions will be conducted according to the new schedule from June 19 till further instructions in accordance with the office schedule announced by the government. These instructions have been issued under the powers conferred by Section 41(2)(d) of the Finance Companies Act, 2023.

At present, the financial institution’s office functions are open from 10 am to 5 pm.
