‘March for Gaza’ concludes with prayers for Palestine

The “March for Gaza” event, organized by the Palestine Solidarity Movement Bangladesh, concluded with a heartfelt prayer led by Mufti Abdul Malek, the Khatib of the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. Standing on the main stage at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday (April 12), he prayed for the people of Palestine, asking Allah to accept the protest, forgive the failings of the Muslim Ummah, and guide global Muslim leaders toward unity and decisive action.
Earlier in the event, the declaration for the program was read by Mahmudur Rahman, editor of Amar Desh, who called on Muslim leaders around the world to sever all ties with Israel and demanded an end to Israeli aggression in Gaza.
Participants, including ordinary citizens, voiced calls for Muslim unity to resist Israeli brutality. Thousands had gathered at Suhrawardy Udyan, arriving from various parts of Dhaka in groups large and small, united by a common cause. The event saw rare unity, as activists from political parties including BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, NCP, as well as artists, poets, and social media influencers, joined hands in solidarity with Palestine.
Leaders from various political factions also demanded justice for the war crimes committed by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and those backing him, urging the international community to hold them accountable. The gathering was marked by a powerful and historic show of unity across ideological and social boundaries, all for the cause of Palestine.
