On the morning of the Bengali New Year, Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor, joined the celebration at Ramna Batamul in the capital. As dawn broke, the traditional New Year festivities began with performances by Chhayanaut, filling the entire Ramna area with music and collective voices.

While attending the event, Shafiqul Alam spoke briefly with journalists, offering New Year greetings and highlighting the joyful gathering at Ramna. He expressed happiness at seeing people from all walks of life and ethnic communities—both from the hills and the plains—come together to celebrate the new year in unity. “They’ve celebrated Biju, Boisu, Sangrai, and we’re observing Boishakh—all part of the same celebration,” he said, emphasizing the peaceful and inclusive atmosphere marked by music and poetry since early morning.

The Press Secretary expressed hope that negative forces and stagnation in the country would be overcome and wished for continued national progress. Reflecting on this year’s changes, he reiterated the intention to unite all ethnic groups in celebration—a goal that was realized.

Looking ahead, he expressed optimism for the coming year, mentioning expectations for expanded employment opportunities and for Bangladesh to evolve into a global economic hub. He also touched on election plans, echoing the Chief Advisor’s earlier message that national elections are expected to take place between December and the following June, emphasizing the importance of conducting them smoothly and effectively.
