Thousands of BNP leaders and activists gathered in Dhaka’s Nayapaltan on the occasion of International Workers’ Day, where a grand rally was organized by the Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal. BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman addressed the event virtually from London as the chief guest.

Although the rally was scheduled to begin at 2 PM on Thursday, the area around the BNP central office in Nayapaltan turned into a festive gathering long before the official start. Eyewitnesses reported that from around noon, processions of party members from Dhaka and surrounding districts began arriving in waves.

Due to the massive turnout, all forms of vehicular movement through Nayapaltan came to a halt, and a heavy deployment of police was observed in the area.

The rally was presided over by Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal president Anwar Hossain and moderated by general secretary Tuhinul Islam. Senior BNP leaders including Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas, and others from affiliated organizations were present.

The event began with a cultural performance by members of JASAS (Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha), featuring patriotic and labor rights-themed songs. The festive atmosphere was amplified by colorful caps, party t-shirts, slogans, drums, and music echoing through the venue, giving the rally a vibrant, spirited tone.
