Hasnat Abdullah declared today that their three-point demand has not been fulfilled, and urged everyone not to leave the streets until an official announcement is made. “People of Dhaka, come out to the streets,” he said while speaking from a makeshift stage on a mini truck at the InterContinental intersection in the capital.
Musaddiq Ali Ibn Muhammad of the July Alliance said that banning the political activities of the Awami League is not enough. “We demand it be officially declared a terrorist organization and banned through judicial proceedings. Mere symbolic restrictions will not stop us.”
Akhtar Hossain, member secretary of the NCP, also stressed that no one should leave the streets until their official stance is announced. “We will sit for discussion, but until then, remain on the streets,” he urged.
Ali Ahsan Zunaid, coordinator of Aap Bangladesh, demanded that the July Declaration be issued within 30 days.
Other speakers included NCP’s joint coordinator Rifat Rashid and Maulana Ishaq from Islami Andolon Bangladesh.
