Remittance Inflow Surges by 81.6% in First Five Days of August

Bangladesh recorded a significant 81.6% year-on-year increase in remittance inflows during the first five days of August, with the total reaching $328 million, according to the latest figures from Bangladesh Bank.

In the same period last year, remittances amounted to $181 million.

From July 1 to August 5 of the current fiscal year (2025–26), Bangladeshi expatriates sent a total of $2.81 billion, marking a 33.9% rise compared to the $2.09 billion received during the corresponding period in the previous fiscal year.

The country also saw a record-breaking total remittance of $30.33 billion in the 2024–25 fiscal year—its highest ever—surpassing the $23.91 billion received in FY2023–24 by 26.8%.
