BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia undergoes medical check-up at Evercare

BNP leader and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia visited Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Thursday night for health examinations.

According to BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan, she left her residence in Gulshan, “Firoza,” around 8:30 pm for the hospital.

Her physician, Professor AZM Zahid Hossain, stated that her medical team had recommended several tests, which is why she was taken to the hospital. He mentioned that Khaleda Zia is expected to return home once the check-up is completed.

The BNP chief last went to Evercare Hospital on June 18 for a routine health review.

Earlier this year, she spent four months in London receiving specialized medical treatment. She had initially flown there on January 8 and underwent treatment at the London Clinic, later continuing her recovery under the care of doctors at her son Tarique Rahman’s residence. Renowned specialists, including Professor Patrick Kennedy and Professor Jennifer Cross, were part of her treatment team.

Khaleda Zia came back to Dhaka on May 6 and since then has been receiving continuous medical supervision from a board headed by Professor Shahabuddin Talukder at Evercare Hospital. The team also provides her with regular support at her home.

The 80-year-old former Prime Minister has long been dealing with multiple health issues, including complications related to her liver, kidneys, and heart.
