Khaleda Zia returns home after medical check-up

BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia returned home after undergoing a health check-up at a hospital. She left her Gulshan residence in Dhaka and arrived at Bashundhara Evercare Hospital on Thursday at 8:20 pm. Following the medical examination, she returned home around 11:45 pm.

BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan confirmed that the party’s Secretary General and other leaders were present during this time.

The octogenarian leader has long been battling multiple health issues, including liver cirrhosis, kidney complications, heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis.

On 8 January, Khaleda Zia traveled to London, UK, for advanced medical treatment. She spent 17 consecutive days at a London clinic and later received care under the supervision of specialists Professor Patrick Kennedy and Professor Jennifer Cross at her son Tarique Rahman’s residence on 25 January.

After completing her treatment in London, she returned to Bangladesh on 6 May. Since her return, she has been receiving ongoing medical care at her home under a medical board led by Evercare Hospital specialist Professor Shahabuddin Talukder.
