Syeda Rizwana Hasan, the Interim Government’s Environmental Advisor, questioned politicians’ inactivity over 53 years, stating, “If reforms are to be done by us, what were they doing?” Speaking at a Gulshan event on noise pollution and driver retraining, she attributed their failure as the reason for assuming responsibility. Rizwana announced that by December, noise pollution regulations would become law, empowering police. She highlighted worsening conditions in Dhaka, emphasizing the need for behavioral change as excessive honking increases societal stress and disrupts mental well-being.
