Of this amount, 120 crore BDT has reportedly been withdrawn over time, leaving a current balance of 14 crore BDT in the frozen account. The revelation has sparked widespread debate and criticism across media platforms.

In response, Munni Saha addressed the matter on her verified Facebook account, providing a detailed clarification. She explained that the account in question is a business account belonging to her husband, Kabir Hossain Taposh, who operates an advertising agency named MS Promotions since 2002. Saha stated her name was only listed as a nominee for the account and emphasized that she has no financial partnership or guarantor role in her husband’s business.

Saha further elaborated that the 134 crore BDT mentioned represents the cumulative transaction volume over 22 years, including operational expenses, rent, and salaries, not a lump sum deposit. She criticized the media for using misleading headlines to misrepresent the nature of the transactions. She also acknowledged the scrutiny from Bangladesh Bank’s Financial Intelligence Unit, expressing confidence in the investigation’s thoroughness.

The journalist decried the social harassment and misinformation she has faced, attributing it to political biases and longstanding personal attacks. She also highlighted her exclusion from key government press events over the years and defended her professional integrity, asserting that she has never leveraged her position for personal gain.
