Police Detain Over 1,260 in Nationwide Sweep

Over the course of 24 hours, law enforcement authorities have detained 1,261 individuals during coordinated operations across Bangladesh, as confirmed in a message from the national police headquarters on Friday.
According to the statement, the arrests were carried out between midnight Wednesday and midnight Thursday. Of those taken into custody, 749 were held in connection with active arrest warrants or ongoing legal cases, while the remaining 512 were detained for their involvement in various alleged offenses.
Additionally, security forces recovered a foreign-manufactured firearm, two magazines, 15 rounds of ammunition, and 10 crude explosive devices.
This follows a similar series of arrests the previous day, during which 1,384 individuals were apprehended across the country.
