Tarique Rahman recites verses from the Holy Quran while seated beside his mother’s coffin

Tarique Rahman was seen reciting verses from the Holy Quran while seated beside the coffin of his mother, Khaleda Zia. The moment was shown in a video shared at 10:29 am on Wednesday on the BNP’s verified Facebook page.
The post stated that the BNP’s acting chairperson was offering Quranic recitation beside his mother’s coffin.
Earlier in the morning, Khaleda Zia’s body was taken from Evercare Hospital in Dhaka to house number 196 on Gulshan Avenue. The residence belongs to Tarique Rahman. Around 9:17 am, her body, wrapped in the national flag of Bangladesh, was transported there in a vehicle.
After the body arrived at the Gulshan residence, family members, party leaders, and activists gathered to pay their final respects and offer prayers.
Later, the body will be taken from Gulshan to Manik Mia Avenue, where her funeral prayer is scheduled to be held after Zohr prayers on Wednesday. Following the janaza, Khaleda Zia will be laid to rest beside the grave of her husband, former President Ziaur Rahman.
Former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia passed away at 6:00 am on Tuesday at Evercare Hospital in the capital. She was 79 years old.
She had been admitted to the hospital for the final time on November 23 and remained critically ill for over a month. Both local and foreign doctors were involved in her treatment. Despite all medical efforts, she breathed her last on Tuesday morning.
