The BNP has launched its eight-day program of public rallies across 64 districts, starting today, February 12. On the first day, rallies will be held in six districts: Khulna, Lalmonirhat, Sirajganj, Brahmanbaria, Sunamganj, and Patuakhali, where central leaders are scheduled to address attendees. Notable leaders such as Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, and Nazrul Islam Khan will participate as key speakers at specific venues.

This initiative aims to pressure the government for a clear roadmap for the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election, anticipated by December, as per assurances given by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus. BNP’s leadership believes that public mobilization through rallies will strengthen their demands for a fair and inclusive election, counteracting alleged government delays and opposition efforts to stall the process. They intend to conclude this series of rallies before Ramadan, transitioning to less disruptive activities such as Iftar gatherings during the holy month.

The party plans to resume larger demonstrations after Ramadan if specific election timelines are not declared. Meanwhile, discussions at BNP’s policymaking committee meetings, presided over virtually by Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, emphasized the urgency of these rallies and their alignment with party goals to restore democratic integrity. The agenda also addressed rising commodity prices and condemned recent acts of violence, reiterating BNP’s commitment to peaceful political movements. Central leaders have outlined a detailed schedule for the rallies, ensuring broad participation across the country.
