Interim government’s Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus met with the family of Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, the convenor of Inkilab Mancha and a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency.

During the meeting, Professor Yunus assured the family that the government would ensure the highest standard of medical treatment for Osman Bin Hadi. He also pledged that everyone involved in the attack would be identified and brought to justice.

The meeting took place on Saturday morning at the state guest house Jamuna. Osman Bin Hadi’s brother Abu Bakar Siddiq, his sister Masuma, and three leaders of Inkilab Mancha—Abdullah Al Jaber, Fatima Tasnim Juma, and Md Borhan Uddin—were present.

Professor Yunus said the entire nation is praying for Osman Bin Hadi’s recovery and that all possible efforts are underway to provide him with the best care. He added that if his medical condition requires treatment abroad, the government will arrange it at any suitable destination.

Condemning the attack as brutal, the Chief Adviser stated that law enforcement agencies are actively working to arrest the perpetrators as quickly as possible. He confirmed that a comprehensive investigation has already been ordered to uncover the full details of the incident.

Osman Bin Hadi’s sister said he has loved the country deeply since childhood and has always held revolutionary ideals. She mentioned that he enjoyed reciting revolutionary poetry and described him as the backbone of their family. Noting that he has a ten-month-old child, she urged the government to do everything possible to save him, warning that failure to protect the July revolutionaries could put the country’s independence and sovereignty at risk.

Inkilab Mancha leader Abdullah Al Jaber demanded the immediate arrest of the attackers, saying Osman Bin Hadi dedicated himself day and night to the ideals of the July movement. He also called for an investigation into how the alleged shooter, previously arrested in another case, was granted bail.

Fatima Tasnim Juma urged the government to ensure overall security for those involved in the July movement.

Law Adviser Asif Nazrul, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Rizwana Hasan, Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, and National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman were also present at the meeting.
