Police on High Alert as Tensions Escalate in Nayapaltan

Garment workers clashed with the police while protesting for unpaid wages near the Department of Labor in the Nayapaltan area on Tuesday, March 25. Hundreds of workers from NZDF Garments surrounded the building at around 11:45 AM, and when the police attempted to intervene, the workers launched a surprise attack. The police responded by dispersing the workers, but they regrouped and threw bricks and stones at the police. In retaliation, law enforcement used tear gas and sound grenades to break up the crowd.
