A ballistic missile was launched from Yemen toward Israel, prompting air raid sirens across central Israel and a temporary suspension of flights at Ben Gurion International Airport, the country’s main air hub. According to Israel’s military, the missile was intercepted on Sunday morning. Channel 12, as reported by Al Jazeera, noted that another missile attempt from Yemen failed.

The attack came in response to Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza. Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi movement claimed responsibility, stating it was an act of solidarity with Palestinians facing relentless Israeli strikes. Just a day earlier, Israeli warplanes reportedly dropped around 30 bombs on Houthi-controlled ports in Hodeidah and Salif, killing and injuring several civilians, according to Houthi health officials.

Earlier this month, another Houthi-fired missile struck near Ben Gurion Airport, damaging a road and a vehicle. The duration of the latest flight suspension at the airport remains unclear.
