ISPR Names Bangladeshi Peacekeepers Killed and Injured in Sudan Attack

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has released the identities of Bangladeshi Army peacekeepers who were killed and injured in a terrorist drone attack on a United Nations peacekeeping base in the Abyei region of Sudan.
According to an official statement posted on ISPR’s verified Facebook page on Sunday afternoon, the attack took place on Saturday between 3:40 pm and 3:50 pm (local time) at the Kadugli Logistic Base, which operates under the UN peacekeeping mission in Abyei. A separatist armed group carried out the assault using drones, targeting Bangladeshi personnel stationed at the base.
As a result of the attack, six Bangladeshi peacekeepers lost their lives while on duty, and eight others sustained injuries.

The peacekeepers who were killed in the attack are:

Private Md Mominul Islam, Bir (Kurigram)
Private Shamim Reza, Bir (Rajbari)
Private Shanto Mondol, Bir (Kurigram)
Mess Waiter Mohammad Jahangir Alam (Kishoreganj)
Laundry Assistant Md Sabuj Mia (Gaibandha)
Injured Peacekeepers
Those injured in the attack are:
Lieutenant Colonel Khondaker Khalekuzzaman, PSC, Ordnance (Kushtia)
Sergeant Md Mostakim Hossain, Bir (Dinajpur)
Corporal Afroza Parvin Eti, Signals (Dhaka)
Lance Corporal Mohibul Islam, EME (Barguna)
Private Md Mezbault Kabir, Bir (Kurigram)
Private Mosa Umme Hani Akter, Engineers (Rangpur)
Private Chumki Akter, Ordnance (Manikganj)
Private Md Manazir Ahsan, Bir (Noakhali)
ISPR stated that all injured personnel are receiving medical care. Among them, Private Mezbault Kabir was in critical condition and has undergone successful surgery. He is currently under close medical observation. The remaining seven injured peacekeepers have been airlifted by helicopter to advanced medical facilities and are reported to be out of danger.
The Bangladesh Army strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a brutal act of terrorism. In its statement, ISPR said the sacrifice of the fallen peacekeepers stands as a powerful testament to Bangladesh’s enduring commitment to global peace and security.
The Bangladesh Army also expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a swift recovery to those injured.
