The announcement of the Oscar nominations for the 97th edition, delayed twice due to the Los Angeles wildfires, was finally made on Friday, January 23. The nominees were revealed by American actress Rachel Sennott and Chinese-American comedian Bowen Yang.

Netflix’s crime musical Emilia Perez led the race with 13 nominations, marking the first time a non-English-language film achieved this feat. Close behind were The Brutalist and Wicked, each with 10 nominations.
