The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is arresting an average of 823 undocumented immigrants daily under a quota system, as part of President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration. Over the past nine days, ICE has detained 7,412 individuals, with quotas assigned across various field offices to meet specific targets. These operations, carried out at homes, workplaces, and other locations, have led to an increase in deportation rates. The Trump administration has pledged to send the most violent offenders to Guantanamo Bay.

ICE reported that more than 6,000 detainers have been issued, focusing on individuals illegally residing in the country. The agency shared these figures through its official X (formerly Twitter) account, highlighting arrests from operations in cities like New York, Chicago, and Boston. Many of those detained were charged with serious offenses, including sexual crimes against minors, rape, drug trafficking, and weapons violations. Violent gang members from groups like Tren de Aragua and MS-13 were also apprehended.

Border Chief Tom Homan emphasized that the administration’s primary focus is on violent undocumented immigrants. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem echoed this, stating that their efforts target the “worst” offenders, contributing to safer streets. Several ICE raids were conducted in coordination with other federal agencies, such as the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), and the FBI.

In one high-profile operation, Noem participated in an immigration raid in New York City, where 26-year-old Anderson Zambrano Pacheco, alleged to be a leader of the violent Tren de Aragua gang, was arrested. Pacheco had previously appeared in a viral video showing armed men breaking into an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado.

Another notable arrest involved 19-year-old Guatemalan national and MS-13 gang member Luis Adolfo Guerra Perez in Massachusetts. He faced state weapons charges and had previously been ordered deported by a Boston court but was later released.

ICE has released details on over 60 cases, with at least 20 highlighted on the White House’s official X account. However, comprehensive criminal histories for the majority of the 7,412 arrested individuals have not yet been disclosed.

These arrests come amid new policies announced by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, confirming that the “worst offenders” will be temporarily detained at Guantanamo Bay. Hegseth, speaking on Fox & Friends, stated that all options, including military action, remain on the table to combat drug trafficking. This follows President Trump’s directive to the Pentagon to prepare Guantanamo Bay to detain up to 30,000 “criminal illegal immigrants.”
