Lieutenant General (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Home Adviser, has assured that there will be no chance for miscreants to snatch ballots from polling stations in the upcoming national election.

Speaking at a meeting in Dhaka, he said that for the first time, at least five armed law enforcement personnel, including two police officers and three Ansar members, will be deployed at each polling station.

Additionally, 10 unarmed Ansar members, including six men and four women, will be stationed at each center. Important polling stations will have six armed personnel, including three police officers.

Chowdhury emphasized that this election will be the most free, fair, transparent, and peaceful in Bangladesh’s history. He urged officials and law enforcement to perform their duties with integrity and professionalism.

The election will feature several innovations, including body-worn cameras, CCTV, drones, and postal voting via an app for certain groups.

Around 900,000 law enforcement personnel will be deployed, supported by BNCC, Girl Guides, and Scouts. The deployment will be done in two phases to maintain law and order.
