21 Executive Magistrates Across the Country to Enforce Election Code of Conduct

The government has appointed 21 BCS (Administration) cadre officers as Executive Magistrates to ensure strict enforcement of the code of conduct in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.
According to a notification issued by the Public Administration Ministry on Thursday (January 22), the appointed magistrates will have the power to conduct mobile courts in their designated areas until 2 days after the voting day, under Section 5 of the Mobile Court Act, 2009.
The appointed magistrates are required to join or report to the concerned District Magistrate or Returning Officer by January 25.
The District Magistrates will allocate duties and areas for the magistrates to conduct mobile courts. The magistrates will have to inform the District Magistrate and Returning Officer about their daily mobile court activities.
The appointment is aimed at maintaining peace and order during the election, and ensuring the enforcement of the code of conduct.
