The final prayer (Akheri Munajat) of the Bishwa Ijtema will be held tomorrow, Sunday (February 2), between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM. To facilitate this, public transportation in the Ijtema area will be suspended from midnight, according to Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Commissioner Dr. Nazmul Karim Khan.
He made this announcement while speaking to journalists in front of the GMP control room, set up for foreign guests at the Ijtema ground on Saturday morning.
The commissioner stated that from midnight on Saturday, vehicular movement will be restricted on Tongi-Kamarpara Road, the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway from Tongi to Bhogra Bypass in Gazipur, and from Abdullahpur to Baipail in Ashulia. Additionally, vehicles heading towards Mymensingh and Gazipur will be directed to use the Gabtoli-Konabari route, while vehicles coming from Mymensingh towards Dhaka will need to take the Bhogra Bypass and use the 300-feet road. No cargo trucks or heavy vehicles will be allowed to operate on these routes during this time. However, all vehicles related to the Ijtema will be allowed to operate normally.
Dr. Nazmul Karim Khan further mentioned, “We have spoken with the elders (Murubbis) of the Ijtema. They have confirmed that the Akheri Munajat will take place between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM on Sunday. We are vigilant to prevent any untoward incidents and are hopeful that there will be no disruption.”
The final prayer will be led by Maulana Zubair Ahmed, the chief elder of Tablighi Jamaat in Bangladesh and the Khatib and Imam of Kakrail Jame Mosque.
