On March 29th, after visiting the Gabtoli bus terminal in Dhaka, the Advisor to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam, reassured the public that there are no threats or conspiracies during Eid. He emphasized that if there were any, they would be addressed collectively. He also noted that while the general public enjoys the holiday, security forces including police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and Ansar members remain on duty, ensuring safety and maintaining law and order in the city. They are working to ensure smooth travel and secure homes for citizens.
Furthermore, Jahangir Alam addressed concerns about fare hikes, stating that ticket price charts are displayed at counters, and if anyone is overcharging, complaints should be made to the BRTA vigilance team or the police control room. He mentioned that there were a few minor complaints, but measures were being taken to resolve them. He also spoke to bus drivers to ensure they are getting adequate rest, as lack of rest could lead to accidents. The advisor acknowledged that the government’s initiatives have helped people travel home with ease and return to Dhaka safely.
