Ex-Ministers and Officials Summoned to Tribunal Over Genocide Case

Sixteen individuals, including former Awami League ministers, bureaucrats, judges, and politicians, are set to appear before the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in connection with allegations of involvement in crimes against humanity and mass killings during the July-August period. The tribunal directed their appearance to update on the progress of an ongoing investigation related to these charges.
Prosecutor Abdullah Al Noman of the International Crimes Tribunal provided this information to journalists on Monday night.
The accused include former ministers Anisul Huq, Faruk Khan, Dr. Dipu Moni, Rashed Khan Menon, Abdur Razzaq, Hasanul Haq Inu, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Shajahan Khan, Golam Dastagir Gazi, and former state minister Kamal Ahmed Majumder. Others summoned are former prime ministerial advisor Salman F Rahman, Tawfiq-e-Elahi, former Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury, Secretary Jahangir Alam, and Awami League leaders Amir Hossain Amu and Kamrul Islam.
This marks the second appearance for the accused individuals before the ICT, scheduled for Tuesday morning. Previously, on November 17, 13 of the 16 accused had been brought before the court for the first time regarding the same allegations.
