Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser, assured on Sunday that as long as he remains in office, he will not engage in any actions that could harm the country. Speaking at a meeting with leaders of various political parties at the state guesthouse Jamuna, he emphasized the gravity of the current situation, describing it as a time of serious internal crisis. He noted that the ban on the Awami League’s activities has sparked attempts to destabilize the nation, and stressed the urgent need for national unity and consensus to overcome this division.
Dr. Yunus said the country stands at a critical juncture—facing not only political challenges but the potential for collapse if unity is not restored. He acknowledged the historical opportunity presented by the recent upheaval, saying it offers a chance to rebuild and pull the country out of ruin. He expressed determination to hold a credible and fair election, saying he would feel personally responsible if he failed to do so. His call to action focused on moving the nation forward with dignity and ensuring it does not fall back into servitude or chaos.
