Thunderstorms Forecast in Dhaka and 7 Other Districts

A weather alert issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department warns of possible storms accompanied by rain or thundershowers over nine districts, including Dhaka, by Thursday evening (May 29). The forecast, covering the period from 9 AM to 6 PM, was released for inland river ports across the country.
According to the warning signed by Assistant Meteorologist Afroza Sultana, districts at risk include Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, and Chattogram. The storm may bring wind speeds ranging from 60 to 80 kilometers per hour, coming from the west or northwest.
Due to the threat, all river ports within the affected districts have been advised to hoist cautionary signal No. 2.
