Trains to Operate Over Padma Bridge to Khulna and Benapole

Two new intercity trains are set to begin operations on December 24, connecting Dhaka with Khulna and Benapole via the Padma Bridge. This milestone marks the opening of a new rail route through the bridge, according to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Railway on December 18, signed by Director of Public Relations Md. Nahid Hasan Khan.

 

The trains are the 825/826 Jahanabad Express (Dhaka-Khulna) and the 827/828 Ruposhi Bangla Express (Dhaka-Benapole). The Jahanabad Express will depart Khulna at 6:00 AM, arriving in Dhaka at 9:45 AM, and return from Dhaka at 8:00 PM, reaching Khulna at 11:40 PM. Stops include Noapara, Singia Junction, Narail, Lohagara, Kashiani Junction, and Bhanga Junction.

 

The Ruposhi Bangla Express will leave Benapole at 3:30 PM, reaching Dhaka at 7:10 PM, and return from Dhaka at 10:45 PM, arriving in Benapole at 2:30 AM. Stops include Jessore Junction, Narail, Kashiani Junction, and Bhanga Junction.

 

Both trains, with 768 seats each, will not operate on Mondays. Tickets will be available from December 21 at station counters, online, and via mobile apps.
