Khalilur Rahman stated, “The maritime domain of our region is crucial for international trade and regional stability. Bangladesh remains steadfast in fulfilling its responsibilities. We are working closely with partner countries to combat piracy, illegal fishing, maritime terrorism, and other criminal activities. In the past, Bangladesh has also faced challenges posed by global terrorism and extremism. In all circumstances, we follow a strict ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards any form of terrorism.”

The National Security Adviser also highlighted that Bangladesh is currently confronting threats from misinformation and disinformation. The country is committed to safeguarding its cyber space, critical infrastructure, and technology—not only to protect citizens’ safety, privacy, and well-being but also to ensure that no activity originating from Bangladesh poses a threat to regional or global communities.

Khalilur Rahman further emphasized that in addressing the complexities of regional security, Bangladesh reaffirms its commitment to mutual trust and respect, shared interests, and equitable cooperation. To ensure a stable, secure, and prosperous region, Bangladesh is ready to work hand-in-hand with others. He added that no external or internal factor should be allowed to become a threat to any other state or community. By fostering transparency and mutual confidence, Bangladesh is prepared to seek common solutions on any issue and looks forward to this conclave emerging as an open, inclusive, and regionally-driven multilateral forum.
