Manna Hospitalised Due to Illness

Mahmudur Rahman Manna, president of Nagorik Oikya, has been admitted to hospital after experiencing chest pain.

He was taken to Bangladesh Medical University Hospital late on Friday night. The hospital’s director, Brigadier General Irtika Rahman, confirmed the matter on Saturday morning.

According to hospital authorities, Manna was admitted to the cardiology department and is currently being treated in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). Brigadier General Irtika Rahman said that Manna arrived at the hospital on Friday night and was placed under close medical observation.

Speaking about his condition, the hospital director said Manna was sleeping in the morning hours and that his health condition is stable for now. Doctors have reported that he is responsive.

Manna had previously been hospitalised in September 2024 after suffering a cardiac-related illness.

Mahmudur Rahman Manna is a candidate in the Bogura-2 constituency for the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election, where he has received backing from the BNP. Earlier this month, the Election Commission accepted his appeal, restoring the validity of his nomination after initially rejecting it.
