A delegation of senior journalists led by Shahidul Islam, President of the Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) and Editor of the daily Manabkantha, paid a courtesy call on Information and Broadcasting Minister Andaleeve Rahman Partho in the capital.

The delegation included top leaders of the Dhaka Union of Journalists, editors of leading national newspapers, and prominent media professionals.

During the meeting, the journalist leaders congratulated the minister and exchanged views on the overall state of Bangladesh’s media sector. Discussions focused on journalists’ professional safety, welfare and benefits, media freedom, and strengthening an environment that supports responsible journalism.

The delegation also highlighted several issues affecting journalists and the broader media industry, emphasizing the importance of ensuring a safe and independent working environment for media professionals.
