1 arrested for sexually abusing an 8-year-old child in Pubail

Pubail Thana police have arrested a persecutor named Shankar Chandra Sheel (50) on the charge of sexually abusing an 8-year-old child in Pubail, Gazipur metropolis.
The victim’s mother filed a case against Shankar under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act.
According to the source of the case, on Monday (March 17) around 7:00 pm, the officer-in-charge filed a case under the Women and Child Torture Act after the plaintiff’s elder sister went down the stairs next to Roshaner’s Tailors shop located at Pubail College Gate Solaiman Market in the city’s Pubail Police Station area and sexually harassed the plaintiff’s daughter with her hands on different parts of her body.
The investigating officer of the case, SI Md. Rafiqul Islam, conducted an operation that night and arrested Shankar.
Accused Shankar Pubail is the son of Harish Chandra Sheel of Satanipara area and is a salon shopkeeper by profession.
In this regard, Pubail Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Amirul Islam said, referring to the incident, the mother of a child filed a case against the person under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act. The arrested person has been handed over to the court.
