A journalist was attacked after publishing a report exposing illegal assets, sparking outrage among journalists across the country. Many have demanded the swift arrest of the attackers. The incident took place around 8:00 PM on March 26 near Keraniganj Model Police Station in Dhaka.
The victim, Md. Faisal Howlader, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Online Journalists Welfare Union (BOSCO) and Senior Crime Reporter at Dainik Protidiner Kagoj, sustained serious injuries and was later treated at Dhaka Mitford Hospital.

Enraged by the report, Wahid Mia (48), his son Suman (25), daughter Salma (27), and wife Fahima launched a sudden attack, brutally assaulting Faisal. The attackers fled when locals intervened, and Faisal was rushed to Dhaka Mitford Hospital in critical condition.
Following the incident, a General Diary (GD) was filed at Keraniganj Model Police Station on March 28, under GD number 1671.
When contacted, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sohrab Hossain of Keraniganj Model Police Station confirmed receiving the complaint, stating, “We have registered the GD and will take legal action after an investigation.”
