Earlier, on Tuesday night local time, Yunus and his team departed New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury, and Bangladesh Ambassador to the United States, Tarek Emdad Ariful Islam, bid him farewell at the airport.

On the same day, he also met UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi and Under-Secretary-General Rabab Fatima, who is responsible for issues relating to Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing States, and Small Island Developing States.
