Meanwhile, candidates from the “Adommo Jobiyan Oikya” panel, backed by the Islamic Chhatri Sangstha, secured victories in the posts of Vice President (VP), General Secretary (GS), and Assistant General Secretary (AGS) at the Nawab Faizunnesa Chowdhurani Hall Council—the university’s only female residence hall. According to the officially announced results, Mosammat Jannatul Ummi won the VP position with 550 votes, while Sumaiya Tabassum was elected GS after receiving 571 votes.
Following the announcement of the JnUCSU election results, celebratory processions were held on campus in support of candidates aligned with Islamic Chhatra Shibir. During the rallies, slogans such as “Delhi or Dhaka—only Dhaka,” “Who are you, who am I—Hadi, Hadi,” and “Not submission, but freedom—freedom” were chanted.
Voting for the JnUCSU and hall council elections took place from morning to afternoon on Tuesday. The election commission began counting votes using OMR machines around 6:00 pm. However, discrepancies in data shown by two machines led to a temporary suspension of the process. After discussions between candidates and the university administration, a decision was made to manually count the first 278 ballots and later verify them through machines. Although the manual count was completed, further technical issues emerged when the ballots were rechecked digitally around 3:00 am, causing additional delays. As a result, the vote-counting process resumed again in the early morning hours.
