Former DU Chhatra League Leader Arrested on Specific Charges

Nishita Iqbal Nodi, the former vice president of the Shamsunnahar Hall unit of the banned student organization Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Dhaka University, was arrested on Saturday night. She was apprehended by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in the Bashundhara residential area of the capital.
According to Rezwan Mallick, Additional Commissioner of the DB, Nishita was arrested based on specific allegations, and multiple cases have been filed against her.
It is worth noting that on October 23, the Ministry of Home Affairs of the interim government officially banned Chhatra League, one of Bangladesh’s oldest student organizations, under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
