The 11th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to commence on December 30. According to BPL chairman Faruk Ahmed, this season will introduce an entirely new format and approach. As part of these changes, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has planned a vibrant musical event a week before the tournament begins, scheduled for December 23 at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

The BPL authorities have also finalized a panel of 12 umpires for the tournament, including 10 local and 2 international officials. Additionally, 4 match referees will oversee the matches. A BCB source confirmed these updates to a local media outlet.

This season will feature advanced technologies such as DRS, Hawk-Eye, and spy cameras to enhance the game experience. There are also several arrangements for fans, including the unveiling of the BPL mascot. Special tributes to the student and public movements of July-August will be integrated into various elements of the event.

In a unique initiative, the gallery will provide free drinking water to honor the memory of martyr Mir Mugdha. A “Zero Waste Zone” will be established in one section of the stadium, and e-tickets will be introduced for added convenience.

For the first time, the BPL will have a theme song, and multiple inaugural concerts are planned in different cities. Concerts will take place on December 23 in Dhaka, December 25 in Chattogram, and December 27 in Sylhet, creating a festive atmosphere leading up to the tournament.
