Two die from dengue; 715 admitted to hospitals

Two people have died of dengue fever in the past 24 hours across the country, bringing the total number of dengue-related deaths this year to 217. During the same period, 715 new patients were admitted to hospitals with the mosquito-borne illness.

 

The information was revealed in a report issued on Tuesday (October 7) by the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

 

According to the DGHS, in the last 24 hours, 131 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 70 in Chattogram, 142 in Dhaka division, 141 under Dhaka North City Corporation, 114 under Dhaka South City Corporation, 41 in Khulna, 34 in Mymensingh, 32 in Rajshahi, and 10 in Rangpur.

 

Of the two latest fatalities, one occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation and the other in Dhaka North City Corporation.
