Masihur Confesses to Six Murders After Arrest Through CCTV Footage: Police

Police say Masihur Rahman, arrested after being identified through CCTV footage, has admitted during interrogation to committing six murders.

Investigators also stated that Rosu Khan confessed to raping and killing a woman named Parvin on July 20, 2009. According to police, the crime took place on the southern bank of the Hasa Canal in Faridganj, Chandpur, where the victim was strangled to death after the assault.

During questioning, Rosu Khan admitted to killing 11 women by pretending to be in love and luring them with promises of marriage before sexually assaulting and murdering them. Of these cases, six occurred in Faridganj, four in Chandpur Sadar, and one in Haimchar. All of the victims were garment workers aged between 16 and 35.

Police officials said Rosu told them he became a serial offender after repeated failures in love. He also claimed that his intended goal was to carry out 101 killings.

The Rise of Rosu Khan

Rosu Khan was a resident of the Khan family home in Modna village under Chandpur Sadar upazila. From an early age, he became known locally as a petty thief. Due to his worsening behavior, villagers eventually forced him to leave his home.

He later took shelter in Tongi, Gazipur. There, he became involved in theft, robbery, hired muscle work, and other criminal activities, while also forming relationships with several women.

According to his own statement, after being publicly beaten when caught while involved in a relationship with a female garment worker in Tongi, Rosu vowed to kill 101 women and then seek repentance at a shrine. However, before he could carry out that plan, he was arrested by police in connection with the theft of a mosque ceiling fan.
