The movie ‘Meghna Kanya’, a story of breaking the shackles of two women in the village and the city and focusing on women trafficking, will be screened in Shilpakala Academy in the district.

The full-length film is directed by Fuad Chowdhury and produced by Azad Films and SJ Motions Pictures. The film was released in theaters including Star Cineplex on the occasion of Eid.

Regarding the screening of ‘Meghna Kanya’ in various theaters across the country, the director said, ‘Meghna Kanya is a movie based on a true story based on women trafficking in Bangladesh. It needs to be shown not only in Dhaka but also outside Dhaka. There is no other way to prevent women trafficking except to create nationwide awareness. I think Meghna Kanya will play a role in entertaining the audience as well as making them aware.

Anwar Azad is the producer of the film. Switzerland and television partner Deepta TV are in co-production.

Acted in various roles in the movie – Kazi Nowshaba Ahmed, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shatabdi Wadud, Semanti Das Soumi, Sajjad Hossain etc. Actress Jayashree Kar Jaya played an important role. Her character name is Renubala.
