The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast rain with thunderstorms across all divisions of the country. Isolated incidents of hail are also likely in some areas. According to the agency, a trough of low pressure extends from West Bengal into nearby regions, while the seasonal low lies over the southern Bay of Bengal.
Under these conditions, temporary gusty winds with lightning and rain or thundershowers may occur in one or two places across all divisions by 6 PM Tuesday (April 15). Scattered hailstorms may also occur in some parts.
The current mild heatwave sweeping over areas including Sandwip and Sitakunda in Chattogram, and parts of Dhaka, Tangail, Narayanganj, Madaripur, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Cumilla, Chandpur, Feni, Khulna, Bagerhat, and Patuakhali may ease slightly in some regions.
Looking ahead, similar weather patterns are expected through Saturday evening (April 19), with scattered thunderstorms and hail likely on Thursday (April 17). A five-day extended outlook suggests rainfall may decrease toward the end of the period, with temperatures expected to rise.
